Threading Water Quilt Kicks Off Culture Days, Country 105

Culture Days is here, and to get it underway a quilt focusing on the Great Lakes has been unveiled on the wall at Mariner’s Hall.

Called Threading Water-Great Art for Great Lakes, it was made in part by Betty Carpick, who wants people to think of how to preserve the Great Lakes.

She jokes part of the reason she made the quilt is because she wasn’t very good at her home economics sewing class.

Culture Days features 30 local groups sharing art, film, dance and more at venues all over the city. (Photo by Geoff Waterfield)
